INSTALLATION TIPS
1. Spline Grease
Brush a thin coat of Clutch Spline Grease on both clutch end of shaft spline and trans axel/coupler splines. It is important to use a very small thin coating. This will prolong spline longevity. This spline grease can be purchased cheap and online. My go to is Amazon or any of the online parts or foreign parts stores. (Sach's 4200 080 050 as well as Liqui Moly Lif-Life Grease +MoS2).
2. Clutch Centering
3. Insert the Torque Tube
Before inserting the clutch spline end into clutch and clutch bell housing, use a clutch centering tool. This will ensure an easy insertion of the clutch splined end of the shaft. Remove the clutch insertion tool, it should be able to travel in and out easily before installing the rebuilt torque tube.
Be sure to keep the Toque Tube absolutely straight. When inserting the clutch end shaft into the clutch spline, you may need a buddy to support the back end of the tube. To ensure it goes in straight and with ease. Sometimes you need to twist the shaft to index the splines correctly.
Once the tube flange meets the back of the clutch bell housing, you can line up the mounting holes and place the 4 bolts in. Run them all the way in with your fingers first, this will ensure that you don't cross thread and damage the housing mount holes. You can then torque the 4 bolts to factory spec's, xx Foot
Lbs. or xx Newton Meters.
